Farm to Community Outreach/Support Project:
“CORN FOR KIDS” fundraiser was started by Sunset Farm in 2014 to allow our farm to provide financial support and raise public awareness for local groups which service children in our community. Participating groups in turn promote the concept of buying local and the “economic” importance of supporting WV agriculture, since this fundraiser only features WV grown products. This fundraiser also provides supporters with a product that is healthy, edible, extremely practical/usable, & pre-budgeted in all households (groceries). We are currently working to make this fundraiser internet capable to improve success, convenience & safety for the participating groups. As an added bonus, we hope to incorporate a food bank donation option that would give supporters the option to offer financial support of the non-profit group while donating any unwanted portion of the food product. EXCITING?, YES!

Exciting projects for 2015:
In partnership with Alderson Community Food Hub, Fritz Parmacy & Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Sunset Farm is coordinating a MOBILE MARKET. The focus will be providing food access for those in our community with challenges (physical, financial, transportation, etc) which prevent them from shopping at the Farmer’s Market or local grocery store.

Also new for 2015, Sunset Farm is offering “personal farming services” with an annual elite membership to our farm. Membership, which is limited to 20 families, includes decision making input on annual crop selection at our farm and weekly home or office delivery during growing season of family size portions of all products available. Service area is limited to Lewisburg, WV for the 2015 season.

Looking Forward to 2016:
“U PICK” STRAWBERRIES (under construction)
