Poultry Processing Trailer Rentals
Each trailer comes equip with six slaughter cones, a rotating scalding unit, a plucker, a stainless steal evisceration table, and a basin for ice/water.
You will need:
- 2″ ball hitch (hauling back and forth);
- Full coverage automobile insurance on the towing vehicle;
- Regular sized propane tank (heating the scalder);
- Access to running water;
- Access to electricity;
- Knives, personal protective equipment, supplies for packing; and
- A signed rental agreement upon arrival for pick-up. (click here to download)
Member Rate – $15/day with a refundable $45 deposit
All farmers, community members, and farmers markets who are up to date on dues for annual membership qualify to rent the poultry trailer at this rate as long as the farm they will be utilizing the poultry trailer is within West Virginia state borders.
Non-Member and Out of State Rate – $30/day with a refundable $45 deposit
Anyone who is not a member of the WV Farmers Market Association or a member of a WV Farmers Market qualifies to use the equipment at this rate. Entities who processes poultry outside of the state of West Virginia may not use this equipment to participate in interstate commerce.
This equipment may be rented for on-farm use only by producers in compliance with state and federal laws. Consult your state regulatory office overseeing poultry before contacting us about dates for rental equipment availability.

Market Manager Peer Network
This group of experienced farmers market managers meets monthly to discuss challenges and achievements each month with other managers across West Virginia. The group began as a part of the Localized Information Exchange program and has since expanded to include 13 member markets.
In 2022, an invitation will be extended to all member farmers markets of the West Virginia Farmers Market Association. Resources and technical assistance are provided monthly through a virtual conference. Previous topics have included: marketing your market, assisting producers with marketing and setup, record keeping and reporting, data collection troubleshooting, vendor recruitment and retention, production planning, and many more.
